Ryazan Mall Brawl: Guard Attacked with Bottle, Knife

Ryazan police reported the detention of four participants in a brawl at the Premier shopping center on Moskovskoye Highway. An eyewitness described the events inside the mall.

The press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that a report of a conflict in the store between intoxicated visitors came in on 3 February.

Police officers responded to the scene and detained four local residents aged 17 to 19. Police clarified that most of them are not studying or working.

According to preliminary police information, the young people argued, the quarrel escalated into a profanity-laced exchange and then into a fight. Shopping center security guards tried to separate the fighters, but one of them hit a guard on the head. Police are conducting a check into this circumstance to give a legal assessment of the attacker«s actions.

An eyewitness said that the guys got drunk and started causing a ruckus and fighting. In the video taken by the eyewitness, security guards can be seen trying to calm the brawlers. According to the young man, their fairly rough actions were justified — earlier, one of the young men hit the guard on the head with a vodka bottle, and another even pulled out a knife.
