Ryazan Health Official Suspected of 300,000-Ruble Bribes

The Investigative Committee of the Ryazan Region has opened a criminal case into the receipt of a particularly large bribe by an official at one of the institutions of the regional health ministry, the agency reported.

According to the investigation, in 2025, the employee provided information about upcoming purchases of medical equipment and materials to an acquaintance who is an entrepreneur, in exchange for money. Such schemes could give the businessman an advantage over other suppliers and help him win auctions. The investigation believes that in total, the suspect received about 300,000 rubles (approximately $3,300 at current rates).

The health ministry employee is currently detained. For the criminal case, evidence is being collected and secured, and a decision is being made on what measure of restraint to impose on the man.
