Police detain drug buyer and seller in Kimovsk

In Kimovsk, police first detained a buyer of narcotic substances and later the seller. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Tula region.

On the stairwell of one of the apartment buildings, police detained a 50-year-old man. During a personal search, 0.51 grams of plant-based narcotics were found on him.

The man explained that he bought the drugs for personal use and later turned in the person who sold him the substances. Then police conducted a search at the seller«s location.

During the searches, over 168 kilograms of narcotic substances were found at the seller«s.

Both men face punishment. The seller is charged under the article for the sale and storage of substances in a particularly large amount. For this, he faces up to twenty years of imprisonment.

The buyer may get off with only an administrative fine of 5,000 rubles (approximately $55 at current rates), if it is proven that he purchased and stored the substances without the intent to sell.
