Owner of Burnt Sauna Where Five Teenagers Died Sent to Pre-Trial Detention

Pre-trial restrictions have been chosen for the owner and administrator of a private sauna where a fire on January 31 took the lives of five teenagers. A group of schoolchildren and students had gathered to celebrate three friends« birthdays, but the evening ended in tragedy.

At the height of the evening, a fire broke out in the two-story building, from which only one 16-year-old visitor managed to escape. The other teenagers were unable to leave the sauna. Rescuers spent an hour extinguishing the illegal recreation area, which, according to investigators, had no fire extinguishers or accessible emergency exits.

The first to be detained was the administrator of the establishment, who let the teenagers into the venue without an adult, and also, according to investigators, her actions with the stove firing might have caused the fire. Two co-owners of the sauna were soon found.
