Omsk Teen Murders Newborn in Hotel Room

On July 21, it was reported that a horrific murder had occurred at the «Nadezhda» hotel on 5th Putevaya Street, where a 16-year-old mother strangled her child. She stated that she was unaware of her pregnancy and gave birth accidentally. The motives behind this brutal crime are examined in this report.

“All Walls Covered in Blood”

The girl, named Marina, had a sturdy build and always appeared older than her age. She was a regular at the «Nadezhda» hotel, often visiting with a young man named Kanat.

“She came about once a week with a young man of Kazakh ethnicity. This had been regular since the start of spring. The girl doesn’t look 16; she appears older. They spent the night, and the guy left in the morning,” said Tatyana Panyuta, a hotel maid, to NGS55.RU.

There had never been any issues with the guests. They always behaved quietly and left the room clean.

“The young man always spoke with me; he was very friendly. He handled the check-in. They never caused a disturbance or were heavily intoxicated. They always left the room tidy,” noted Tatyana.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 18. The deceased infant was discovered in the bathroom, placed in a trash bin. The woman reported hearing a baby cry earlier that day but assumed it came from a neighboring building.

“At about five minutes to five, I heard the door slam. Marina was already outside and said she was leaving. When I opened the room, everything was covered in blood. The toilet was closed. I ran after her, but she had vanished. I opened the toilet; the light wouldn’t turn on. The walls were splattered with blood, there were thick pieces lying around, and bedding was in the sink. I went to the bin, grabbed the trash bag, and felt it was heavy. Then I went to call the police.”

Gave Birth to a Healthy Boy

It was revealed that the girl resided in a village in the Omsk Region. Investigators believe that she first strangled the newborn, discarded him in a trash bin, and then departed. Marina’s boyfriend was significantly older. She claimed to have been unaware of her pregnancy and stated that the birth was accidental. The Omsk Region Prosecutor’s Office reported that the infant was born perfectly healthy and was a boy.

Following the incident, the young woman from Omsk was arrested, and a criminal case was opened for “murder of a newborn child by the mother.”

Punishment

Yesterday, on November 6, the girl was sentenced to 1.6 years in a juvenile correctional facility. According to the Omsk Region Prosecutor’s Office, as reported by NGS55.RU, she pleaded guilty in her final statement, expressing fear that her mother would discover the pregnancy and that she would be unable to care for and raise the child.

The whereabouts of the child’s father are currently unknown. The prosecutor’s office clarified that at the time of the murder, the girl was alone, as her boyfriend had already departed. Additionally, Kanat was not the infant’s father.
