Novosibirsk man sentenced to conditional year for killing stray dog

A resident of Bolotnoye was sentenced to one year conditionally for killing a homeless dog. This was reported on February 2 by the prosecutor«s office of the Novosibirsk region.
The 42-year-old man was found guilty of cruel treatment of an animal resulting in its death (Part 1 of Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to the agency, the incident occurred on June 28 of last year. The man threw a homeless dog from a railway bridge — the animal died. Then he buried the dog«s corpse near his home.
The Siberian was detained last summer. During interrogation, he stated that the reason for the cruel killing of the homeless dog was his alcohol intoxication.
Earlier, Novosibirsk volunteers had to euthanize a dog with a torn jaw.
