A resident of Novosibirsk has been found guilty of killing an acquaintance. The court recognized that he committed the crime in a state of affect.
The regional Investigative Committee reported that in February 2025, the former cohabitant of his mother came to the Novosibirsk resident, whom he did not want to let in. A conflict began between the men. As a result, the defendant took a knife and struck the opponent. The victim died in the hospital from the injuries sustained.
«The defendant lived with his mother and her cohabitant from 2018 to January 2025. During the cohabitation, over a long period, the cohabitant caused scandals, insulted them, and used violence against the defendant»s mother in his presence,« the Novosibirsk Region Prosecutor»s Office reported.
The defendant was in a psychotraumatic situation for a long time. As a result, it caused a state of affect in him.
The Novosibirsk resident was found guilty of murder committed in a state of affect, which was caused by a long psychotraumatic situation due to the unlawful and immoral actions of the victim (Part 1, Article 107 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The man fully admitted his guilt. The Oktyabrsky District Court sentenced him to 1 year and 6 months of restricted freedom.
