Nizhny Novgorod MinGrad official faces bribery trial

In the capital of the Volga region, former head of the urban development department of the Nizhny Novgorod agglomeration, Anastasia Ivanova, will stand trial. Last year, she was detained for accepting a bribe of 500,000 rubles ($5,600 at current rates).

According to the regional Investigative Committee, the woman faces punishment under the article on receiving a bribe by an official on a large scale. The prosecution believes that in 2024, for the money received, Ivanova helped an organization lease a plot for the construction of a factory.

The criminal case, with the approved indictment, has been sent to court for consideration on the merits. The Nizhny Novgorod resident could face up to 12 years in prison, a fine, and/or restrictions related to employment in certain positions.

Meanwhile, in Nizhny Novgorod, employees are resigning from the concrete plant «Vector,» owned by the family of former deputy mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, Ilya Shtokman. In September 2025, the ex-official was arrested on charges of accepting a large bribe, and a series of inspections took place at the production facility. At the end of last year, the enterprise«s activities were again suspended, one of the workers told NN.RU.
