In Krasnokamsk, a 34-year-old local man will stand trial — he is accused of violence against his girlfriend. According to investigators, the man controlled and beat her for several years, threatened to kill her, and made her financially dependent on him. It reached the point where he disliked the woman«s manicure, and he bit off several of her nails.
The Krasnokamsk City Court reported that the man forbade his girlfriend from seeing her older sons, monitored where she went and with whom she communicated, and demanded that she report what she was doing. Several times he threatened to kill her.
In addition, the man regularly beat the woman. During a vacation in Egypt, he tried to strangle her and beat her so badly that large black hematomas remained on her body. Another time, he disliked her manicure and bit off several of her nails.
«The torture did not stop even during her pregnancy with their common child,» the court reported. «Some time later, when the woman was holding their newborn daughter in her arms, the accused forcefully threw a baby formula bottle at the bridge of her nose.»
As the court reported, the man monitored what his beloved spent money on. He took out loans in her name totaling about one million rubles ($10,900 at current rates), forced her to sell her car, took the proceeds, and forced her to quit her job so that she would remain at home.
At the end of last summer, the woman managed to escape from the domestic tyrant together with her little daughter. After that, she contacted the police and told her relatives about everything. The man does not admit his guilt. The first hearing in his case is scheduled for 31 August.
