Man inflicts 77 scissors stabs, finishes with axe

Several months ago, a brutal murder occurred in Tobolsk. A man, in a fit of rage, stabbed his acquaintance with scissors and then finished him off with an axe. The accused now awaits trial.

According to investigators, in November, two men had a drinking party. After consuming alcohol, one of them recalled old grievances and, in a rage, grabbed scissors. He inflicted at least 77 blows to the head of the 70-year-old homeowner, riddling the right side from temple to neck. That was not enough for him, so he brought an axe and delivered several more blows, causing instant death.

The Investigative Committee stated: «A sufficient evidence base has been gathered, and therefore the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court for consideration on its merits.»

This crime is not the only brutal murder in the region. In late December near Tyumen, the dismembered body of a woman was found, with parts scattered across the area.
