Now the accused, who have already spent their 33rd birthday, New Year, and Christmas behind bars, will be in custody on the first day of spring (unless, of course, their lawyers file an appeal and the Orenburg Regional Court changes the preventive measure). It should be noted that this time, Yegor and Makar petitioned for a change in preventive measure not even to house arrest, but to a ban on certain actions or bail (in November, they were also ready to pay 5 million rubles (approximately $66,700 at current rates) each).

The Makorovs have been in the pre-trial detention center since June 5, 2025. Also, one of the brothers is charged with the murder of a 17-year-old student near the cafe «Voile» in 2011, and the severity of the charges threatens them with long-term imprisonment. Plus, the very real possibility that the Makorovs might flee from the investigation has not gone away — their younger brother Zakhar is still at large.

As reported by 56.RU, after a brawl in a cafe and a shootout near the Hilton Hotel, which occurred on the night of May 30, 40-year-old entrepreneur Petr Makeev ended up under the surgeon«s knife. Initially, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (UMVD) opened a criminal case on hooliganism, but after several days of uproar on social media and in the press, the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (SKR), Alexander Bastrykin, paid attention to the situation.

According to reports from the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (SKR), the country«s chief investigator then requested a report on the murder of the 17-year-old student near the cafe »Voile« in 2011, and the shootout near the »Hilton« was reclassified as an attempted murder by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy out of hooligan motives.

Our correspondents covered online the hearing on the initial selection of preventive measures for Yegor and Makar Makorov. Their mother spoke there, stating that the cause of the conflict between her children and Petr Makeev was allegedly the infidelity of Makar«s ex-wife. All the details of that hearing — in this article. Afterwards, both Makar and Yegor already attempted to appeal the chosen preventive measure, but the Orenburg Regional Court repeatedly left both in custody.

And at the end of July, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (SKR) reported that one of the Makorovs was charged with murder near that same «Voile» in 2011. As we have already reported, it is known that this refers to Yegor. Details — here.
