The fraudsters who allegedly kidnapped 14-year-old Nikolai Kaplya are «most likely renting a space to hold him.» This was reported to the NGS24.RU editorial office by a girl named Elena, who introduced herself as the boy«s sister. A similar message was published on behalf of the boy»s father.

In her Telegram channel on January 23, Elena also posted about her brother«s disappearance. She is asking those who rent out apartments, houses, or other premises to check who is there »right now.«

For contact, the girl left a phone number — +7 (923) 271-09-65. Elena declined to comment.

The boy«s father, Andrei Kaplya, says the same. His message was published in the Telegram channel of deputy Ilya Zaitsev:

«If you are renting out your apartment or house for a day or a month, check who is living there today. It may turn out that your property is being used, intentionally or accidentally, by fraudsters to house minors who are being manipulated by criminals. Go right now and see: who is actually living in your apartment. If you find out that it is a different person and they match the description, immediately call the phone number +7 (923) 271-09-65. Your action could save a life.»

As law enforcement reported earlier, on the evening of January 22, Nikolai Kaplya left his home in Serebryany Bor «in an unknown direction with an unknown person.» In the evening, the child«s father was messaged that his son had been kidnapped and a ransom of 30 million rubles (approximately $300,000 at current rates) was demanded. The child»s father is Andrei Kaplya, one of the richest businessmen in Krasnoyarsk and the «king of government contracts».

Meanwhile, three million rubles (about $30,000 at current rates) were missing from safes in the family«s home. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on kidnapping, and the prosecutor»s office began an inspection. One version is that the teenager fell victim to fraudsters. The child recorded a video address to his father.

Investigators found out that before disappearing, the boy left by taxi. The taxi driver«s identity has been established, but where her clients went is still unknown, and there are no other details. One resident of Serebryany Bor named Sergey told journalists that outsiders could not enter the territory because it is guarded.

NGS24.RU is conducting an online broadcast about the incident.
