A court in the Kireyevsky District (Tula Oblast, Russia) has sentenced a local resident for persistently evading child support payments for his minor children, the press service of the Tula Oblast Prosecutor«s Office reported.
The 44-year-old Kireyevsk resident failed to pay child support for two children from September 22, 2020, to November 23, 2025, resulting in a debt exceeding 1.8 million rubles ($20,000 at current rates).
Moreover, the man did not attempt to find a job or contact the employment center. He also took no steps to pay off the child support debt.
In the end, the Kireyevsk resident was convicted under the article on evasion of child support payments. He was sentenced to six months of mandatory labor with 15% of his salary deducted to the state.
