Kidnapped boy appeals to father in video message published by prosecutors

The regional prosecutor«s office published a video of a 14-year-old teenager addressing his father — presumably Krasnoyarsk businessman Andrey Kaplya, who is being demanded a ransom for his son.

‘Dad, they say you«re very worried. Yes, me too. I really want to go home. Please do everything,’ the boy says in the video.
In addition, correspondence, presumably between the child«s kidnappers and his father, has been posted. The father asks to speak with his son and prove that he is alright.
According to the prosecutor«s office and the Investigative Committee, the 14-year-old boy was kidnapped from the village of Serebryany Bor on January 22.
‘Preliminary findings indicate that yesterday late in the evening, the schoolboy«s father, returning home, did not find his son, and from the safes three million rubles (about $30,000 at current rates) went missing. Later the father received a video with the boy»s request to fulfill the kidnappers« demands. In the correspondence, they demanded a ransom 10 times the stolen amount,’ writes the prosecutor»s office press service.
Currently, law enforcement is checking the version that the boy is acting ‘under the influence of fraudsters.’
A criminal case on kidnapping has been initiated (points ‘a’, ‘d’, ‘z’ of part 2 of article 126 of the Russian Criminal Code). The prosecutor«s office is checking whether the school conducted preventive talks about internet fraudsters.
