Husband testifies on wife's alleged killing of their baby
Before the tragedy, Danil and Anastasia shared a loving and harmonious home.
The husband of Anastasia, accused of murdering their two-month-old daughter in Yelan, testified in court for the first time about the tragedy. After the incident, Danil filed for divorce, and two weeks ago the court made a positive decision, but it has not yet taken effect.
The serviceman said that he met Anastasia in March. When the girl became pregnant. Danil was given a two-room service apartment, and the family began furnishing it and preparing for the baby«s birth.
In May, a girl was born, but after childbirth Anastasia was admitted to the infectious diseases ward. While the young mother was undergoing treatment, the care of the infant was taken over by the girl«s sister.
On May 20, Anastasia was discharged, and the spouses took the baby home.
‘I got up at night too, helped with everything, changed diapers. She couldn«t breastfeed — it was contraindicated due to the medications she was taking,’ Danil testified in court. ‘I came home for lunch, the child was with me. At first, our daughter had a runny nose, we consulted a pediatrician. At night, she usually didn»t cry.’
Anastasia partially admitted her guilt during the court hearing.
The tragedy occurred on June 25, 2025. On that day, the two-month-old girl cried a lot, and Anastasia was angry because she couldn«t calm her daughter. Danil was also at home but soon left for work.
‘I left the warehouse, I see — a missed call. I started calling, she didn«t pick up. I wrote that I would be there soon,’ said Danil.
Danil immediately called an ambulance and informed Anastasia«s sister about what happened, and then called the police.
‘I was in shock from what I saw, I called everyone, my father, my commander,’ continued Danil. ‘I started calling her, she didn«t answer, but wrote an SMS: “Forgive me, I can»t live with this.” Then I got through to her, she was all in tears. I asked: “Where are you?”, she said — at the bus station in Pyshma. I told her not to go anywhere. That«s where she was detained.’
Emotions are visible on Anastasia«s face in the courtroom.
According to the husband, after discharge from the maternity hospital, Anastasia was very tired and depressed. He assumed that her condition was related to the difficult childbirth, after which she spent a month in the hospital. Before the tragedy, the spouses lived in harmony.
‘There were times when she was holding our daughter, couldn«t calm her, started shaking her,’ said Danil. ‘At first, she rocked her calmly, then more and more strongly. I would approach, take the child, then she would calm down and take her back. When she couldn»t calm her, she started to get nervous, and it turned into her just shaking the child. Before, there were no abnormalities, she was happy that our daughter was born, said she wanted to hold her as soon as possible.’
Today the court will decide Anastasia«s fate — she faces a real prison term for the murder of a child. During the investigation, they want to keep her in custody for six months, while the mother herself is asking to be released under house arrest.
