A former nurse from Germany, who was recently convicted of a series of murders, is suspected of killing more than 100 additional people. This was stated by the chief prosecutor of Aachen, Katya Schlenkermann-Pitts, as reported by the magazine Spiegel.
In November 2025, the man was found guilty of murdering 10 people and 27 attempted murders in the palliative care unit in Würselen. According to the investigation, the former medic administered lethal injections to his victims, claiming it would help them «fall asleep peacefully».
These crimes were committed from December 2023 to May 2024. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
However, new details have now emerged. As the prosecutor reported, the man may be involved in the deaths of over 100 more people that he committed earlier. The accused worked at the clinic since 2020.
Law enforcement officials note that these are only initial suspicions, nevertheless, an additional investigation has begun. Already, 27 exhumations have been conducted, and about 30 more are planned.
As Katya Schlenkermann-Pitts notes, this criminal case has become one of the largest in Germany«s history related to crimes by medical workers against patients.
