In Nizhny Novgorod, police arrested three men suspected of robbing a private home. The crime occurred in early January in the village of Novoye Doskino (Nizhny Novgorod region). The perpetrators prepared thoroughly, bringing a signal pistol and an air rifle.
First, the gang fired the signal pistol at the windows to distract the homeowner. While the woman ran outside at the noise, the robbers entered the house. Inside, they stole cash and gold jewelry, along with a leather jacket and a toy pistol in a holster. The victim estimated the total damage at 250,000 rubles ($2,800 at current rates).
Law enforcement quickly tracked down the robbers and arrested all three. However, during the investigation, one of the suspects died. The remaining two will face trial on charges of theft with illegal entry into a home and open theft of property.
