Former Deputy Director of Gorzelenkhozstroy Faces Trial for Bribery
A former deputy director of Gorzelenkhozstroy is accused of accepting bribes exceeding 1.4 million rubles (approximately $15,000 at current rates). The criminal case has been forwarded to court.

In Yaroslavl, 65-year-old Valentina Kurevina, the former deputy director of the municipal enterprise Gorzelenkhozstroy, will stand trial. She is charged with receiving bribes on a large and especially large scale.
«According to the investigation, from 2022–2024, the accused received bribes from entrepreneurs totaling over 1.4 million rubles (approx. $15,000). The money was transferred for the acceptance of work under municipal contracts for cleaning the city»s street and road network without actual verification, as well as for accepting documents on the provision of special equipment without checking its availability,« the Yaroslavl Regional Prosecutor»s Office reported.
The criminal case has already been transferred to the Krasnoperekopsky District Court for consideration on the merits.
Proceedings against individuals accused of giving bribes have been separated into separate cases and are currently under investigation.
According to the investigation materials, bribes were given by a manager and his deputy from companies providing specialized road cleaning equipment, as well as a representative of an individual entrepreneur. Two individuals, aged 41 and 42, have been charged with giving bribes on a large and especially large scale, while a 42-year-old woman has been charged with giving a bribe on a significant scale.
The Criminal Code stipulates a penalty of up to 12 years imprisonment for giving a bribe on a large scale, and up to 5 years for a significant scale. Valentina Kurevina also faces up to 12 years in prison for receiving bribes.
