Driver remanded after fatal Kolyvan crash

A 33-year-old man fled the scene after hitting and killing a 75-year-old woman while driving drunk without a license in the work settlement of Kolyvan, Novosibirsk Oblast.

The court has ordered a measure of restraint for 33-year-old Anatoly Golenitsky, who is accused of a fatal traffic accident in the work settlement of Kolyvan. This was reported by the group «Courts of General Jurisdiction of Novosibirsk Oblast» on VK.
According to the investigation, on 4 February, Anatoly Golenitsky was driving a Geely Coolray while intoxicated and without a driver«s license. On Maxim Gorky Street, he drove into oncoming traffic and hit a woman.
«He did not turn on his hazard lights or set up a warning triangle, did not take measures to provide first aid to the victim, did not call an ambulance or the police, left the scene of the pedestrian collision, and thus fled the traffic accident,» the court group reports.
The 75-year-old woman died from her injuries.
The driver is accused of violating traffic rules while intoxicated, negligently causing the death of a person, and leaving the scene of an accident (paragraphs «a» and «b» of Part 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The court placed the man in custody until 4 April 2026. The ruling has not yet entered into force.
