Court remands jealousy killing suspect in custody in Rybnisk

A court in Rybnisk, Yaroslavl Region, on January 24 chose a preventive measure for a 40-year-old man accused of murder. He was arrested for two months.

The regional prosecutor«s office stated:

According to the investigation, on the evening of January 21 of this year, the man approached a car parked in the parking lot of one of the apartment buildings on Lenin Avenue in Rybnisk, opened the driver«s door, and stabbed the 32-year-old driver several times. The victim died at the scene from the injuries sustained.

The investigation is being conducted by employees of the Investigative Committee. The suspect was quickly detained.

Police released a video of his confession, where he said that he was waiting for the victim:

After work, he came and got into the car. And then I took action from my side.

The conflict between the men arose over a woman. According to available information, their mutual acquaintance was cohabiting with one of them while maintaining relationships with both.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (murder). If the accused«s guilt is proven, he faces punishment of up to 15 years in prison.
