Case Closed in Mysterious Death of Moscow Region Student

The criminal case into the death of 18-year-old Ksenia Yelovykh under mysterious circumstances has been closed, MSK1.RU was informed by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow Region.
«Based on the results of the investigation and according to the conclusions from forensic medical and psychological-psychiatric examinations, no signs of criminal death were found,» MSK1.RU was told by the agency.
Ksenia Yelovykh went missing in November 2024. For three days, volunteers and law enforcement officers searched for her. The girl«s body was discovered in a forest 66 kilometers from her hometown of Ivanteyevka. The cause of death, according to the Investigative Committee, was suicide. But the girl»s parents do not believe this. According to them, their daughter had no reason to take her own life, and there are many inconsistencies in the case handled by investigators.
Law enforcement officials investigated the circumstances of the tragedy for about a year, during which several investigators were replaced on the case. In March 2025, the head of the agency, Alexander Bastrykin, requested a report on the progress of the criminal case and the established circumstances.
As Ksenia«s father Valery recounted, in the spring the criminal case was closed, but then reopened with reclassification to another article – incitement to suicide (Article 110.1 of the Russian Criminal Code). On the anniversary of the girl»s death, November 25, 2025, Ksenia«s parents were invited to the agency, where yet another new investigator took from Valery photographs and personal belongings of his daughter.
«We communicated with the investigator in November: at that time we were told that new examinations would be appointed and an investigative experiment conducted. No one notified us about the closure of the case,» Yelovykh told MSK1.RU.
Valery reported that he was not notified about the closure of the criminal case, although, as MSK1.RU was informed by the Investigative Committee the day before, this had already happened in November.
All news about the mysterious death of Ksenia Yelovykh has been collected in a separate story.
Earlier we reported about the Bogorodsk maniac Dmitry Artamoshin. He sought his victims through advertisements and hired them as nannies for his child. In total, five women suffered at the hands of the man: three of them, including the maniac«s wife, managed to escape, and two more girls were found dead on Artamoshin»s property.
