The Central District Court of Kemerovo has chosen a preventive measure for an entrepreneur who, according to law enforcement, gave bribes to a former minister and former chief doctor of a city hospital in Kuzbass, the press center of the regional courts reported on Friday, January 23.

The court sent the entrepreneur to a pre-trial detention center (SIZO) for giving bribes from February to June 2025 to former Kuzbass Health Minister Dmitry Beglov and former chief doctor of a local hospital, Yevgeny Yeshchin. The total bribe amount reached 700,000 rubles (approximately $7,800 at current rates).

From the preliminary investigation and its materials, it was found that he gave this money for concluding state contracts and organizing their financing. The money was transferred to Beglov in a car in the center of Kemerovo, near the house where the minister lived, and to Yeshchin — again in his office.

Yesterday, the man was detained and charged; today, following the consideration of the petition, he was given a preventive measure in the form of detention until March 8, 2026.

Earlier, the editorial staff of NGS42.RU reported in more detail about what the entrepreneur was arrested for.
