Balashikha poisoner on family disputes with stepfather and elders

Artem Missyura spoke to Izvestia about long-running conflicts within his family.
The Balashikha poisoner Artem Missyura, who is accused of killing his grandmother and childhood friend, as well as attempted murders, told Izvestia about his family relationships. He said that he and his stepfather had been arguing since childhood — the stepfather even resorted to conversations with elder spiritual counselors to change Artem«s character.
Missyura is accused of multiple poisonings, including fatal ones, within his family circle.
They argued because of the stepfather«s aggression toward Artem»s younger sister, with whom he was especially close. Conflicts also arose because of Missyura«s girlfriends: the stepfather did not accept the first one, and Artem did not even dare to introduce the second one to the family. He later poisoned her while testing the poison, but the girl survived.
The young man explained the poisoning of his stepfather sometimes as his own decision, sometimes as the influence of third parties. He spoke warmly of his friend Konstantin, who died from his poison, and called what happened a tragic accident.
Artem is sure that the stepfather is influencing the investigation with money and connections and is trying to isolate him from his mother. He himself wants to restore relations with the family. As for the murdered grandmother — he claims that he did not want to cause harm.
The case against Missyura, or as journalists dubbed him, the Balashikha poisoner, was initiated in 2024. As the investigation established, he put chemicals in his parents« food with the aim of poisoning them. As a result, his grandmother and friend died, other family members ended up in the hospital but survived.
