Another suspect emerges in fake kidnapping of Krasnoyarsk teen

In the case of the fake kidnapping of a teenager in Krasnoyarsk, a new suspect has emerged. A 22-year-old resident of the Tyumen region has been detained, whom investigators consider a courier for the fraudsters.
According to the Investigative Committee, the man flew to Krasnoyarsk from Surgut on January 21. The next evening, January 22, he met at a city restaurant with 18-year-old Adelina from Surgut and took a backpack with money from her, which had been received from the minor.
The courier did not personally hand over the money to anyone. As established by the investigation, he left the backpack in a pre-arranged location on the street. After that, the young man left Krasnoyarsk: on the night of January 24, he departed the city by taxi and awaited further instructions.
He was found on February 1 in Blagoveshchensk. The man was detained and brought in for investigative procedures. The issue of his arrest is now being decided. He has already been transported to Krasnoyarsk.
Recall that on the evening of January 22 in Krasnoyarsk, 14-year-old Nikolai Kaplya disappeared. The next day, the teenager was found. Later it became known that the «kidnapping» story was part of a fraud scheme: the schoolboy was under the influence of perpetrators and essentially «kidnapped» himself with the help of an 18-year-old girl from Surgut, who was also under influence.
