While the wife worked, the husband lost money on bets, took out loans, and got into debt. When things got tight, the wife started stealing money from her workplace. Marat Khairullin started betting in the early 2010s, initially winning and even bringing some money home. But then the gambling quagmire sucked him in — he bet large sums but didn«t always win.
When creditors came, it became clear that something had to be done. Instead of trying to negotiate, Marat convinced his wife Luiza to steal money from the bank where she worked.
Thus, a gambling hobby took a criminal turn. When it became clear that the money manipulations were about to be exposed, the couple fled. In their haste, they didn«t even close the door to their apartment.
