14-year-old kidnapped in Krasnoyarsk, criminal case opened

The investigation suggests the 14-year-old was abducted from his home in Krasnoyarsk for ransom.
In Krasnoyarsk, a criminal case has been initiated over the kidnapping of a minor, the regional Investigative Committee reported. It involves 14-year-old Nikolai Kapla, who went missing the day before.
His father reported the disappearance and possible kidnapping to the investigative authorities on 22 January. The criminal case was initiated on the fact and under the article for «kidnapping of a knowingly minor by a group of persons for mercenary motives» (points «a», «d», «z» of part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
«According to the preliminary investigation version, on the evening of 22 January 2026, the teenager left home in an unknown direction with an unknown person. On the evening of the same day, a message about the teenager»s kidnapping with a demand for ransom for his return was received on the father«s phone in a messenger, as well as a video address from the teenager himself about the need to meet the demands,» the IC reported.
On social media, Nikolai is said to be the son of the director of the equipment supplier firm «AvtoSpetsMash». It was not possible to promptly contact Andrei Kapla.
Krasnoyarsk residents are asked to help in the search for the teenager. Description of the boy: height about 170 centimeters (about 5«7»), slim build, brown curly hair, brown eyes. He was wearing: a swamp-colored jacket, light blue jeans, black boots.
