14-year-old boy kidnapped in Krasnoyarsk, criminal case opened

A criminal case has been opened in Krasnoyarsk after the kidnapping of a 14-year-old boy, whose parents have been sent a ransom demand.

In Krasnoyarsk, a criminal case has been initiated over the kidnapping of a minor, the regional Investigative Committee reported. He disappeared the day before.

His father reported his disappearance and possible kidnapping to the investigative authorities on January 22. The criminal case was initiated on the facts and under the article on «kidnapping of a minor by a group of persons for mercenary motives» (clauses «a», «d», «h» of part 2 of Article 126 of the Russian Criminal Code).

«According to the preliminary investigation, on the evening of January 22, 2026, the teenager left home in an unknown direction with an unknown person. That same evening, the boy»s father received a message in a messenger about the kidnapping of the teenager with a ransom demand for his return, as well as a video address from the teenager himself about the need to fulfill the demands,« the Investigative Committee reported.

On social media, the teenager is said to be the son of the director of the equipment supplier company «AvtoSpetsMash». We were unable to promptly reach Andrey Kapla.

Krasnoyarsk residents are asked to help in the search for the teenager. The boy«s description: height about 170 cm (5 feet 7 inches), slim build, brown curly hair, brown eyes. He was wearing: a swamp-colored jacket, light blue jeans, black boots.
