Ufa's Tsentralny Mall Bank Accounts Blocked

The Tsentralny shopping center has been in a financial crisis for several years.
Ufa«s Tsentralny shopping center had its accounts at Alfa-Bank blocked due to debts. This is evidenced by the Federal Tax Service»s (FNS) bank notification system for processing electronic documents. The legal entity of this mall owes 13.2 million rubles (about $146,700 at current rates) to the tax authority. All operations at the bank were suspended for the shopping center as of July 16.
Recent years have been financially difficult for the Tsentralny Mall. The past 12 reporting months were loss-making for the corresponding legal entity. According to Kontur.Fokus (a Russian business database), the company ended 2025 with a loss of 198.3 million rubles (about $2,203,300 at current rates) on annual revenue of 518.2 million rubles (about $5,757,800 at current rates).
In 2024, the property was put up for sale for 6.1 billion rubles (about $67,777,800 at current rates). The deal was stipulated in an agreement with the creditors of Tsentralny, who agreed not to bankrupt it provided the shopping center was sold — the owner was to pay them a debt of 3.5 billion rubles (about $38,888,900 at current rates) from the proceeds.
The story itself dates back to 2019, when insolvency proceedings were initiated against the legal entity of the shopping complex. Incidentally, the tax authority considered the settlement agreement between the owners and their creditors to be unfair — in its view, the true aim was to strip assets and sell property circumventing the law — however, the court disagreed with the service«s arguments.
