Two Major Restaurants Close in Aura Mall — What's Next?

In the Novosibirsk shopping mall Aura, two restaurants have ceased operations — IL Patio and Shikari, owned by the Russian corporation RosInter. It was previously reported that the new tenants of these spaces are expected to be franchisees of the Moscow-based chain The Bull.

IL Patio and Shikari closed on Monday, January 19. This is not a temporary break; the establishments have indeed ceased operations, as confirmed by NGS with the administration of Aura.

The establishments opened in the mall in 2017, when the owners of the center decided to renovate the food court, eliminating half of the outlets without their own seating areas in favor of standalone restaurants.

Both concepts belong to the oldest Russian restaurant company, RosInter. It was this company that in the late 1990s opened the first outlets of its Rostix concept in Novosibirsk, as well as an establishment of the Patio Pizza chain (which was rebranded to IL Patio in 2004). Currently, the company has only one establishment left in Novosibirsk — IL Patio in the Mega shopping center.

NGS has reached out to the RosInter company for comment.

Since the beginning of the year, around ten establishments have closed in Novosibirsk. Some of them did not wait for the end of the long New Year holidays.
