Tsentr-Kniga on Marx Avenue announces closure

A bookstore chain in Omsk is reducing its number of retail outlets.
In Omsk, another «Tsentr-Kniga» bookstore is closing, this time at 29 Marx Avenue, near the «Goluboy Ogonyok» cafe. Information about this appeared in the chain«s official community on VKontakte. Until February 9, books are being sold there at a 50% discount.
As Ilya Ivanov, the manager of the retail outlets, told NGS55.RU, by the end of the year Omsk may be left with only three stores in the chain: «The next in line may be the store in the Metromoll shopping center on 70 Let Oktyabrya Street.»
At the end of December 2025, books from the store at this address were already being sold off and they planned to close, but management managed to negotiate a reduction in the rent.
«Therefore, it is still operating, although it is in the process of liquidation. If the situation does not improve, then it will be closed at the end of spring.»
Thus, by summer, only three stores of this chain will remain in Omsk: on Serova Street, on Lenina Street, and on Mira Avenue. They are planned to be kept, but the final decision will depend on demand and rental rates. At the same time, the company assured that it is not raising book prices for now, trying to keep them at the same level.
Recall that in July of last year the outlet on Mayakovskogo Street ceased to function, in October the store in the «Amursky» shopping center stopped working, and at the end of November — the one at 38 Mira Avenue opposite Omsk State Technical University.
