Third People's Award Launched in Tyumen with Updated Nominations
The third 72.RU People«s Award has officially launched in Tyumen — a token of appreciation from residents for the city»s best businesses. A closed-door presentation was held the day before, on January 28, at a new venue: this time we chose the Slotsov Museum Complex. We show and tell how it went.
People«s Award — What It Is and For Whom
Today in Tyumen, hundreds of companies are working daily to improve our lives. And we decided that it is possible and necessary to sincerely thank them for this. It is for this purpose that the region«s most-read city portal — 72.RU — established and conducts the People»s Award.
— The People«s Award appeared nine years ago in my native Yekaterinburg and has scaled up across all of Russia, becoming a major federal project. Today we hold it in Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Chita, Samara, and other cities. In Tyumen, the new third season of the People»s Award starts right now, — opened the presentation by Oksana Maklakova, creative director for strategic communications at Shkulev Holding and producer of the project.
Year after year, the number of nominees and participants is growing rapidly, and this means a lot.
— In 2024, there were 15,800 companies nominated in the first stage, and last year — already 24,000. The response is very large — we see it in the comments, tags [on social media]. In conversations and calls to the editorial office. Tyumen residents report that they want to nominate their favorite companies, to attend the award ceremony. And they admit that the People«s Award resonates with them, — added Elena Poznakhareva, editor-in-chief of 72.RU.
Of course, creating a large-scale event alone is difficult, so support is essential. We thank the company «Vostok Motors» and our other partners for it and say a special thank you to the government of Tyumen Region.
People«s Award in 2026: Rules and Nominations
We divided the presentation into three conditional blocks — an introductory part with stories about the project«s mission and philosophy, the main part — about the mechanics of nominating candidates and voting, and the concluding part, during which any, even the most tricky questions could be asked. But first things first.
It is important to know that the nominations change from year to year. This is done to cover as many areas of life as possible and to tell about those who in various ways make it more vibrant, comfortable, and dynamic. This time, the list of nominations is as follows:

By the way, there are two special nominations — «Business of the Year» and «Creative Business of the Year», where winners will be determined without voting. In the first case, the winner is chosen by the editorial office of 72.RU, in the second — by the authorities of our region.
— What unites us all is that we love our city, our region. I like how the heroes [of the People«s Award] are chosen, who announce the nominations, it»s my solace. I«ve shed tears more than once listening to these [their] stories. And thanks to such projects, we learn about these folk heroes who every day, despite everything, change the environment around them for the better. Thank you for your soul and love, — shared Irina Shirokova, head of the regional department of public relations, announcing the new special nomination.
What Participation and Victory in the People«s Award Gives to Business: Personal Experience
Among the presentation guests were those who have already participated and those planning to do so for the first time. It is important to clarify that this time, winners in different nominations from 2025 and 2024 cannot contend for victory: they receive the honorary status of experts.
— In previous years, after the final ceremony, we heard dissatisfaction and even pain from participants: «The same ones win every year. And how can we, with fewer resources, outdo the players in our field, our industry?» And this is not just about the specifics of the Tyumen market: it«s like that in all cities. Therefore, companies that have received two People»s Award statuettes, we move to the expert category, — explained Oksana Maklakova.
Thus, the confectionery Sweet Mafia became an expert of the 72.RU People«s Award. Last year it won in the »Made in Tyumen« nomination, and the year before it took the title »Coffee Shop and Confectionery of the Year«.
— I«m for us all having an awesome time, getting emotions, a charge to work, to create. I»m about emotions. Everything will be cool. Absolutely, — shared with us Larisa Inoyatova, founder of the confectionery.
The manager of «Nasledie» (Heritage), which became restaurant of the year in 2025, also looks to the future with optimism.
— We got such a drive, such an adrenaline rush when we received the statuette last year! To this year«s participants, I wish to be on the same wavelength with your consumer, guest, buyer — only they can nominate you to the pinnacle of recognition. Do everything 100% or don»t do it at all. Nowadays, it«s not possible otherwise, only like that, — he is sure.
For the dentistry New Smile, making it into the top 100 participants of the People«s Award helped attract new grateful patients, and for the private kindergarten »Medvezhonok« (Little Bear) — new young pupils.
As for the questions asked by the audience — they were varied. But the hottest discussion was sparked by the following: «Why don»t you disclose the number of votes for companies that made it into the top hundred? More precisely, for each of them individually.« And we, of course, have an answer to this question.
— We do this to avoid later investigations. Unfortunately, in every city, situations arise when companies use vote manipulation, and our development department detects this during thorough checks. And it happens that some army of bots changes the voting count literally within half an hour. Another reason is that when forming the top 10 for each of the nominations, there is no first, second, third place, etc.: all are equal. And all are already winners, — explained Oksana Maklakova.
She was supported by the director of the go-karting center «Live Drive» and the glamping Live Drive Village.
— The first year we didn«t make it into the top 100: we couldn»t find a nomination for our go-karting, and now we enter as leisure. And the number of votes… For me, it«s better to be in the top ten than to know that I»m second and just one vote short. Competitive spirit will always be here, and it will support us. This is a cool project for entrepreneurs, for all of us. Thank you very much! — thanked Maxim Yumsunov.
