SIBUR main shareholder Leonid Mikhelson re-enters world's top 100 richest

Co-owner of Novatek and main shareholder of Tobolsk-based SIBUR Leonid Mikhelson has returned to the top 100 richest people in the world. Since the start of 2026, his wealth has increased by $1.93 billion.

PJSC SIBUR Holding is registered in Tobolsk. Its headquarters is in Moscow. It is a large gas processing and petrochemical company. The holding has a plant in Tobolsk — ZapSibNeftekhim. The enterprise is a leader in the production of basic polymers in Russia. Its products are used in housing and communal services, construction, automotive industry, trade, medicine, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors of the economy.

Previously, we reported that Mikhelson dropped out of the top 100 ranking. At the beginning of the year, his wealth was estimated at $23.7 billion.

We also reported that at one of SIBUR«s structures — LLC New Resources in Tyumen — there were staff reductions. The company itself explained that the changes affected no more than 10% of the employees at the Tyumen office — about 70 people.
