In the first half of January, 29 companies in St. Petersburg switched to part-time employment, and in the Leningrad Region — 10 enterprises.

Part-time employment involves reducing working hours at the employer«s initiative, such as introducing a shortened work week or decreasing the length of the work day. This helps preserve jobs during periods of temporary reduced workload.

According to data from the St. Petersburg Committee on Labor and Employment, as of January 14, among city enterprises with reduced schedules, 13 are in industry, one in construction, two in transport, five in trade, and one in housing and communal services.

Among specific companies that have switched to a shortened work week are «Kirov Plant», the metallurgical plant «Petrostal», and LLC «Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant».

Meanwhile, the St. Petersburg Committee on Industrial Policy, Innovation, and Trade reported that it does not have information about enterprises operating in such a regime.

In the Leningrad Region, authorities indicated that the main reasons for switching to a shortened week are seasonality of activity, reduced demand for products, and changes in production organization.

The list of enterprises in the Leningrad Region operating under part-time employment includes:

  • LLC «Marketsale» (Slantsevsky District);
