Owner to repurpose Daursky meat plant in Krasnokamensk

The owner of the Daursky meat processing plant in Krasnokamensk, Zabaykalsky Krai, announced plans to repurpose production using the plant«s freed-up capacity. Marina Markina, general director of the Talina Group, reported this on February 4 in response to an official inquiry from Chita.ru.

It was previously reported that starting February 1, 2026, the plant halts production, and stores across the region were notified. The documents mentioned mothballing the production site. LLC Meat Processing Plant Daursky was established in 2009 and registered in Krasnokamensk. The plant is now fully owned by the Talina Group from Mordovia. According to the Kontur.Focus system, at the end of 2024 the plant«s net loss amounted to 45.3 million rubles ($503,300 at current rates) on revenue of 1.2 billion rubles ($13,333,300 at current rates), which fell 13% compared to 2023.

«The site was originally created for the production of meat and sausage products with an eye on exports to China. Now, however, the company is forced to adapt to changed conditions. The significant increase in logistics costs, as well as the ongoing regulatory approvals for importing meat and sausage products into China, do not allow for stable and economically viable production load. These factors are external and do not depend on the company«s activities. Therefore, we decided to repurpose the plant into a site for industrial goods production, which will allow more efficient use of the existing infrastructure,» Markina responded.

She added that their company will continue supplying meat and sausage products to Zabaykalsky Krai from LLC MPK Atyashevsky.

Earlier, the Telegram channel Incident Krasnokamensk reminded that the Daursky plant supplied products both to regional retail chains and beyond the region — to Moscow and St. Petersburg. In 2025, the plant announced it was seeking partners abroad.

«We are closing. Everything ends on February 1. We were told it has become unprofitable. All products — packaging and everything — come from that part of Russia (European), and it is very expensive. We won«t be here after February 1. Only security will remain,» the channel quoted a comment from one of the plant»s employees.

The Talina Group is a holding that unites enterprises for crop production, feed production, industrial breeding and fattening of pigs, and the production and sale of meat delicacies. The group«s website stated that the meat processing segment is represented by LLC MPK Atyashevsky in the Republic of Mordovia and LLC MK Daursky in Zabaykalsky Krai.
