New tenant of the social fair premises on Marx Square will be the restaurant «Frank by Basta», opening under a franchise. This will be the second establishment of the chain in Novosibirsk.
The social fair in the annex to the GUM department store ceased operations on 31 December last year. According to the regional government, the owner of the premises did not participate in the procurement procedures necessary for the fair to continue.
In January, equipment was dismantled; this week, construction materials were delivered, and part of the shop windows were covered with film featuring designs indicating the new tenant. As reported by NGS, the social fair will be replaced by the restaurant «Frank by Basta».
This will be the second restaurant of the chain; the first establishment in Novosibirsk opened in August 2023 at the intersection of Sovetskaya and Lenina streets. The management company «Volshebny» LLC, which runs the Novosibirsk venue, posted a net profit of 43.5 million rubles (approximately $483,300 at current rates) on revenue of 316 million rubles (approximately $3,511,100 at current rates) in 2024 (data from Kontur.Fokus).
The head office of the «Frank by Basta» chain confirmed the opening of a second restaurant in Novosibirsk, stating that it «is tentatively planned for June 2026».
On Marx Square, the new restaurant will compete with a number of already operating establishments. One floor above, a large bar of the «Shashlykoff» chain operates; next door is the beer restaurant «GUSI v gorode»; and on the other side, in the Sun City shopping center, the «Volkovskoy Pivovarni» bar, which opened last year, is located.
