Leonid Mikhelson, co-owner of the company Novatek and main shareholder of Tobolsk-based SIBUR, has once again found himself on the list of the hundred richest people on the planet.
The Bloomberg agency provides the following data: «Rank — 95th. Change since the start of the current year — +$1.93 billion. Net worth — $25.6 billion.»
PJSC SIBUR Holding, the controlling stake of which is owned by Mikhelson, is officially registered in Tobolsk. The holding«s management company is located in Moscow. It is one of the largest gas processing and petrochemical companies in Russia.
In Tobolsk, the ZapSibNeftekhim plant operates, which is part of SIBUR«s structure. The enterprise is a leader in the production of basic polymers in the country.
The plant«s products are used in various sectors of the economy:
- housing and utilities;
- construction;
- automotive industry;
- trade;
- medicine and pharmaceuticals;
- other sectors.
At the beginning of 2026, Mikhelson temporarily left the list of the hundred richest people, at which time his capital was estimated at $23.7 billion.
In December 2025, at the Tyumen division of SIBUR — LLC New Resources — layoffs were conducted. According to the company«s information, the changes affected no more than 10% of office employees, which amounted to about 70 people.
