St. Petersburg to Impose Traffic Restrictions in Four Districts

The State Administrative and Technical Inspectorate of St. Petersburg announced on January 21 the introduction of temporary traffic restrictions in four districts of the city from January 24. The most long-term restrictions will be in effect until September 2028.

Vasileostrovsky District

In Vasileostrovsky District, from January 24 to February 6, traffic on Lieutenant Schmidt Embankment will be restricted from 6th–7th Lines to 10th–11th Lines of Vasilyevsky Island. The reason is the laying of utility lines. An alternative route has been proposed for detouring this section:

- along 8th–9th Lines of Vasilyevsky Island,
- Lieutenant Schmidt Embankment,
- Trezzini Square,
- 4th–5th Lines of Vasilyevsky Island,
- Bolshoy Prospect of Vasilyevsky Island,
- 1st and Kadetskaya Lines of Vasilyevsky Island,
- University Embankment.
Kalininsky District
In Kalininsky District, from January 24 to 30, Arsenalnaya Street will be closed from Mineralnaya Street to Kondratyevsky Prospect. This is due to the installation of temporary barriers.
Kurortny District
In Kurortny District, in Zelenogorsk, Vokzalnaya Street will be closed to traffic from building 37, letter A, to 1st Zagorodny Lane until April 11. The restriction is introduced due to major repairs. A detour is organized via a temporary road.
Petrogradsky District
In Petrogradsky District, the most long-term restrictions: from January 24, 2026 to September 23, 2028. Petergofskaya Street from Malaya Zelenina Street to Pionerskaya Street and Pionerskaya Street from Petergofskaya Street to Gdovskaya Street will be closed. The reason is the placement of temporary barriers and a pedestrian gallery. Additionally, for one day, January 24, 2026, as well as from September 22 to 23, 2028, passage on Srednyaya Koltovskaya Street near building 8, letter A will be restricted.
