Samara Gas Station Charges 160 Rubles per Liter

A gas station with record prices was found near the 18th kilometer of Moskovskoye Highway.

Here, a liter of 100-octane gasoline was priced at almost 160 rubles (approximately $2 per liter at current exchange rates). To be precise, 159.9 rubles per liter. But drivers were not scared off by this price.

Fuel shortages in Samara Oblast (as in almost all of Russia) began several weeks ago. In an attempt to solve this problem, regional authorities imposed restrictions on fuel sales. Gasoline is sold up to 40 liters per customer, and diesel fuel up to 100 liters for passenger cars and up to 300 liters for trucks. It was assumed that such limits would be in effect for only two weeks, but in early July, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Samara Oblast extended the restrictions.
