Authorities in Rostov Oblast will begin accepting applications in March for compensation for cars damaged in drone attacks. Governor Yury Slusar announced this on his Telegram channel. The payment procedure was approved at the end of last year.

«I ask for patience; we need to complete all regulatory procedures. But the process has been launched, and we will not back down,» wrote Slusar.

As reported by 161.RU, the payments have a maximum limit. If a car is damaged as a result of a drone attack, compensation cannot exceed 500,000 rubles (about $5,000 at current rates). If destroyed, it cannot exceed 1 million rubles (about $10,000 at current rates). The specific amount will be determined by an expert assessment, which the authorities must conduct at their own expense after the owner submits an application.

Moreover, only those whose cars were damaged no earlier than January 1, 2025, can qualify for the subsidy. Drone and missile attacks from previous years are not eligible. Another important condition: the car owner must be recognized as a victim under Article 203 of the Russian Criminal Code (terrorist act) and have a document confirming this.

Governor Yury Slusar announced during a live broadcast in early December that residents of Rostov Oblast would begin receiving compensation for cars damaged by drones. He stated that, «probably, it will not be possible to compensate every car, but we are determining a baseline level for which compensation will be provided.»
