Petersburg Traffic Jams Reach 5 Points

By 13:00 on January 27, road congestion in St. Petersburg was estimated at 5 points according to the Yandex.Traffic service. This value is two points higher than the standard level for this time. Southern directions leading to the Ring Road were particularly problematic.

On Pulkovskoye Highway, traffic came to a halt from the Pulkovsky Rubezh memorial to KAD. Moskovskoye Highway is congested from the Gazpromneft gas station to Vitebsky Prospect, and Sofiyiskaya Street from Ust-Izhorskoye Highway. On Volkhonskoye Highway, five-kilometer-long traffic jams formed in both directions towards the ring road. A similar situation is observed on Tallinskoye and Krasnoselskoye highways.
Inside the city, traffic jams also accumulated. Traffic intensity on Marshal Zhukov Prospect from the center and on Leninsky Prospect in the Marshal Zhukov area reached 9 points. This is 7 and 5 points above the norm, respectively. Predportovaya Street, leading to KAD, is completely occupied by vehicles, and the queue of cars stretched to Dunaisky Prospect and adjacent streets.
On the Ring Road itself, traffic jams formed on the outer side before Novoselye and on the inner side before Piskarevsky Prospect. In addition, a buildup of traffic is noted on the Western High-Speed Diameter before the southern exit to KAD.
According to the Transport Organizer, due to traffic jams on Predportovaya Street, Dachny Prospect, Bulvar Novatorov, Veteranov Prospect, Tallinskoye, Moskovskoye Highway, and Sofiyiskaya Street, many buses are delayed by 40–50 minutes. Travel time has increased for several dozen public transport routes.
In the afternoon of January 27, traffic was closed on KAD. Recall that today on the ring road, there are restrictions for freight transport, as well as possible temporary closures of the section from Ropshinskoye Highway to Piskarevsky Prospect. Closures are also likely on Murmanskoye Highway near St. Petersburg.
