No Special Gas Stations for Officials, Bashkiria Says

At a briefing at the Center for Regional Management (TsUR) on Thursday, Deputy Minister of Industry, Energy, and Innovation of Bashkiria Eduard Mustafin commented on reports of separate gas stations for government employees in the republic.

The clarification came after numerous complaints from residents and social media rumors about alleged privileges for state workers amid fuel market turmoil.

Responding to a question from Elena Prochakovskaya, head of the Bashkortostan Governor«s Office for Social Communications, about citizen complaints, Mustafin categorically denied the existence of special lists of officials entitled to priority service. He said the matter concerns only vehicles of emergency services ensuring public safety.

“For civil servants who ensure safety, for example, police or ambulance staff, there are, of course, separate refueling points. As for state civil servants — that is not the case, there are no lists. We are ordinary users and stand in the same queues,” the deputy minister assured.

Asked how he personally deals with queues, Mustafin urged people not to look for a conspiracy but to choose the right time and place. He revealed his own route: on the way from Bulgakovo towards Sterlitamak, near Dubki, there is a gas station that is almost empty at 7 a.m. — only four cars, he assured.

“I«m just lucky with my route,” he explained, urging drivers to plan trips considering peak hours rather than seek “special conditions” for officials.
