Moscow hosts legal and spectacular teen drift competition

A 13-year-old Moscow resident named Timofey Kolobov won the youth drift competition at the second stage of the RDS Winter Cup in Moscow.

The second stage of the 2025/2026 RDS Winter Cup in drift racing concluded in Moscow. Thirty-two pilots from 12 regions of Russia participated. In addition to adult and experienced drivers, children as young as 8 to 16 years old demonstrated their skills.

The strongest pilot among adults was recognized as Danila Skorobogatov (Team234 Motorsport v.2.0) from Tomsk. Second place was taken by Alexander Perevedentsev. The bronze in the individual standings went to Denis Testoedov, winner of the first stage of the competition in St. Petersburg.

School-aged drivers showcased their skills alongside adult competitors in the drift races.

In the team standings after two stages of the RDS Winter Cup, first place was taken by Team234 Motorsport v.2.0, second — by «CMRBank», and third place — by the Carville Racing team, which included RDS GP pilots Artem Leitis from the city of Sortavala, Anton Kozlov from Ulyanovsk, and Ivan Palmin from St. Petersburg.

The intense drift action surpassed even the animated excitement of the «Cars» movie.

As part of the Moscow stage of the RDS Winter Cup, training sessions for young pilots aged 8 to 16 were held for the first time. Athletes with a license from the RAF (Russian Automobile Federation) and skills in rear-wheel drive car control could participate.

Young participants demonstrated that drifting can be both legal and aesthetically impressive.

The teenagers underwent theoretical and practical training, and then competed against each other. Based on the qualification and paired races, victory was won by 13-year-old Muscovite Timofey Kolobov. He won all duels with opponents and showed some of the most stable and spectacular races. The young pilot has been in drift racing for over two years and plans to continue his career in motorsport.

The competition featured close head-to-head battles between the drifting vehicles.

«The young pilots, by the way, left an incredible impression — they showed a high level of car control in a drift and looked like serious competitors even for adult pilots on the track,» noted Dobrovolsky.

The results of the second stage of the RDS Winter Cup, which took place on the territory of the CTVS «Moscow», were also summarized. After two stages, the leader of the individual standings is Danila Skorobogatov, with 359 points. In the team standings, first place is held by Team234 Motorsport v.2.0 with a result of 670 points.
