Residents filmed a lynx in the populated area
A wild lynx was spotted in the village of Severny in the Varnavinsky district of Nizhny Novgorod region. Local residents, concerned about the predator«s appearance, sought help from the Urensky interdistrict department for the protection, control, and regulation of hunting resources. Specialists from the region»s ministry of forestry intervened and took the animal back into the forest thicket.

The video shows how the graceful animal with ear tufts first hid among the snowdrifts and then carefully headed towards the forest. This unexpected encounter, fortunately, did not lead to any negative consequences.
Authorities remind that when wild animals are found in populated areas, it is necessary to immediately report to the 24-hour dispatch service «Green Phone» at number 8 (831) 433-22-11 or to the unified emergency number 112.
Earlier in the Gorodetsky district, a camera trap recorded another lynx, which even posed a bit for the camera.
