Stray dog pack attacks pedestrian in Volgograd

In the Kirovsky district of Volgograd, a pack of stray dogs attacked a man. The victim suffered a bite to the leg and was forced to seek medical help, including wound treatment and vaccination against tetanus and rabies.
The incident occurred in the yard of house No. 5 on Rosa Luxemburg Street. The animals attacked the passerby as he was simply walking by.
According to the man, the pack consists of 5–6 animals that settled near a heating main two to three months ago. «At one point the whole pack ran at me. They were barking almost right at me as I walked, and one of the dogs suddenly bit me from behind. It»s okay, I«m an adult, but we have a gymnasium and kindergartens nearby, with small children, what if they attack them?» the victim shared his concerns.
Local residents have repeatedly reported the problem to the municipal animal control service, MBU «Severnoye». However, the man claims they were told they must wait their turn, as the service prioritizes locations where attacks have already occurred.
Despite statements about capture, the dogs remain in the same place. In the Beketovka neighborhood, similar packs pose a constant threat to the population.
A request has been sent to the city administration demanding an explanation of the measures that will be taken to ensure citizen safety and why the problem has not been resolved earlier.
