Six-Toed Maine Coon Kitten for Sale in Novosibirsk
In Novosibirsk, a black Maine Coon kitten with an unusual trait is being offered for sale: it has six toes on each paw. The listing was posted on Avito. The owner is asking 35,000 rubles (about $440 at current rates) for the pet.
The listing states that the kitten is being sold by a private owner. The Maine Coon does not yet have a registration metric, pedigree, microchip, or veterinary passport, but it has already been treated for parasites.
The kitten is currently about one month old. According to its owner, Olesya, it is still nursing from its mother but is gradually transitioning to eating on its own. The pet can be picked up at 2.5–3 months of age, after deworming, vaccination, and litter-box training.
“The pet is one month and ten days old. It eats natural food: balanced meat-and-bone mixes and day-old feeder chicks. At the same time, it drinks its mother«s milk. It is active and playful, so right now we are looking for the very best mom and dad for it,” Olesya told an NGS correspondent.
According to Olesya, if desired, the future owner can have origin documents drawn up, as well as a pedigree in their name and a veterinary passport with vaccination records.
The owner separately warns future owners about feeding Maine Coons. According to her, representatives of this breed have sensitive digestion, so a pet«s diet must be changed gradually and with its specific needs in mind.
“They have sensitive digestion, just like other purebred cats. So changing the diet must be approached with proper knowledge,” Olesya added.
NGS previously spoke in more detail about Maine Coons, their temperament, and their health with Olga Gruzd, a Novosibirsk expert on all cat breeds. She noted that these pets are known for their playful nature. The breed is popular among Novosibirsk residents — recently, locals shared photos of their stern pets.
Earlier, we wrote that an orange Maine Coon with six toes on each paw was being sold in Novosibirsk. The pet has a very expressive appearance.
