Murmansk Chef Adopts Orphaned Cat, Now Thriving

In July 2025, the lives of four cats in Murmansk changed drastically: their only owner died. The cats spent 10 days in an empty apartment without water or food. Volunteers learned of their plight and took the orphans into their care.

One of the cats was named Pirozhok (Little Pie). «A round-faced beauty. A calm, timid intellectual, tame and harmless. He inspires love at first sight and a desire to squeeze those chubby cheeks,» the volunteers described their ward.

A few months later, the cat with the «culinary» name was noticed by the family of Maxim Galetsky, a well-known brand chef from Murmansk.

«When we saw him, it took us literally a few minutes to decide that we needed to take in and help this defenseless cat,» Maxim admitted to 51.RU journalists.

At first, after moving to his new home, Pirozhok (now Tikhon) was indeed afraid of everything. But time and love did their work: now he is a happy, spoiled indoor cat.

«Tikhon is a meat-eater. Sometimes we give him beef, turkey, liver. When I cook steaks, he always gets a piece of raw marbled meat. His eyes light up, he smells the meat and runs to the kitchen, sits and waits for his share,» the brand chef said.

His friend is a cat named Brünnhilde. According to the owners, the pair complement each other perfectly:
«Brushka is a more emotional cat, while Tikhon is calmer, more phlegmatic. They live a happy life!»
By the way, one of the orphans, Agata, has still not found a home. Those who wish to change that can contact the curator Alyona Sitnikova.
Recall that the orphaned Maine Coons we reported on in August 2025 have found a new family: they now have a loving owner and two fluffy companions.
