Engineer saves birds in Kazan village without 'crazy love'
Elizaveta Edrennikova has been helping to nurse birds back to health for 15 years — thus the «Lisiy Dom» (Fox House) appeared in the village of Lesnye Morkvashi. The editorial team of 116.RU visited the place where owls, kites, pigeons, crows, and other birds undergo rehabilitation after various illnesses and get a chance to recover and someday return to the wild.
Edrennikova moved to Kazan 11 years ago from Kurgan. By education, she is an engineer and works in the IT sector. But to save birds in Tatarstan, in 2014 she obtained additional education — in veterinary medicine. The first feathered creature she saved was an ordinary pigeon that flew into the window of the office where she worked.
«The most surprising thing for people to hear from me is that I never had a crazy love for birds and I still don»t. I, in principle, love animals. And I always wanted to become a veterinarian,« the girl admits.
She created the help group «Lisiy Dom» relatively recently. As a rule, all birds that are helped here later return to their natural environment after recovery. But there are also «non-graduates» — those who are no longer able to fly.
At Elizaveta«s own home, four birds already live: three kites and one owl. The girl does not make grand plans for developing her activity; she simply wants to help the birds she can save. Many people, according to our heroine, do not understand this and demand that she help absolutely everyone.
«There are many people who behave very unpleasantly like this and start blaming for something. Therefore, sometimes I lose heart, sometimes I think: »Why the hell do I need all this?«» admits the mistress of «Lisiy Dom».
Last year, the editorial team of 116.RU also visited the only hedgehog cafe in Tatarstan. We not only met the establishment«s employees but also interacted with its prickly inhabitants.
