Cat Rescued from Uninhabited Island Near Novosibirsk

A boat was sent to bring the pet to the shelter
In Novosibirsk, a home is being sought for a cat named Robinson. According to the Bastet«s Legacy shelter (Nasledie Bastet), on Monday, 10 August, they took in a cat that had lived for a month on an island in the Ob Sea. A boat was sent out specifically to retrieve the pet on a weekday.

Robinson will stay in a cage until the necessary procedures are completed
«A follower wrote to our shelter»s group. They said a cat was living on Nechunayevsky Island in the Ob Sea. People had set up a tent camp there to rest on weekends, and he came out to them meowing, drawn by the smell of food. He is clearly a domestic cat — he slept in their tent at their feet, ate everything with them, including tomatoes, cucumbers, and bread,« the shelter shared. »We had just held our «Tail Day» adoption fair and had a few spots free up, so we said: «Bring him!»«
Notably, other tourists saw a notice on the island that read: «If you see the cat — take him for yourself.»
The cat turned out to be large but affectionate, and immediately began purring in their arms, the shelter reported. He was immediately tested for leukemia and immunodeficiency virus, and the pet was found to be healthy. He was given the name Robinson.
The cat is approximately 3–4 years old. He will be put up for adoption after vaccination and neutering, and will undergo quarantine before that. To adopt Robinson, contact the volunteers through the Bastet«s Legacy group on the social network VKontakte.
On 8 August, NGS reported on how the «Tail Day» adoption fair for shelter animals is held in Novosibirsk.
