The large, gray, good-natured cat Milan, who traveled almost all of Russia with his owner and went missing in Vladivostok, has been found after a month of searching. He was found with frostbitten tail and ears, hungry, but the cat came out to people on his own just before the New Year.

According to his owner Daria Murashova, he is in poor condition but will live. He was found by an employee of the television center on Uboevicha Street: the woman saw tracks and decided to check.

«Saw tracks, called out. He came out,» the owner briefly recounted.

In addition to frostbitten ears, the cat lost 2.5 kilograms, which the clinic where Milan was immediately taken for examination called a serious amount. The cat was found to be emaciated and dehydrated; perhaps passersby fed him, which saved the animal. Now he is already home, veterinarians have checked him, and the tests were good. Daria was told that it is rare for animals to be so lucky. Now all that remains is to fatten up the companion.

Murashova called it a New Year«s miracle, and the editorial staff of VLADIVOSTOK1.RU agrees — the cat survived a sudden cold snap, wet snow, and the coldest day of the month. Whether he stayed in one place the whole time or not is unknown, but he was fortunate to leave tracks and meet a caring woman.

The cat was searched for three weeks; he is not just a pet but a faithful companion to his owner. He moved with her from city to city until he ended up in Vladivostok. Milan disappeared on the cold night of November 29 on Uboevicha Street. He likely ran out through a door that was briefly left ajar.

Milan«s owner works as a methodologist for children»s programs at the V.K. Arsenyev Museum of the History of the Far East. She was very worried about the loss of her beloved pet. The situation was complicated by the fact that Murashova planned to move again but could not leave her companion on the street.

About how the search went and why Milan might have run out the door — is told in a short video, and the whole story of Milan and Daria — in a feature article.
