Adorable pet photos wow judges at Pet Photography Awards 2026

Sometimes pets just need to look at the camera—and the photo is already perfect. Add a funny face or an odd pose, and the shot becomes worthy of an international award. That’s exactly what made it to the finals of the Pet Photography Awards 2026, impressing the judges with sheer cuteness and charm.

Almost everyone has encountered that special kind of neighbor—the nosy one. If something happens in the yard or hallway, they’re right there. He Huapei met one such character, but not a human—a cat. Who knows, maybe its owner went to work, and the pet is determined not to miss a thing so it has something to meow about in the evening.

Photographer Linda Glomb has a werewolf at home that forgot how to turn back into a human. In size, it certainly loses out, but in grace it outdoes anyone. Just look at it leaping toward the moon—a little more, and it’ll grab it by the edge and bring it to its owner like a toy ball.

Every year, one of the standout categories is “People and Pets.” Photographers capture the most touching and emotional moments. The leader of all fluffy literature lovers was captured by Carolin Melin, and this is officially the most serious yet adorable cat of the entire 2026 competition. You could appoint it as a library director, responding to any laughter with a stern look and a dignified whisker droop—hardly anyone would dare to make noise again.

The goat kids don’t care at all that their friend might be quite different from them. Jennifer Chassagnol photographed these two completely opposite little ones. Their friendship and strong bond are truly enviable.

Cats have a special superpower: no matter where they end up, they act like they own everything around them. Live in an apartment? Now it’s theirs, including all the furniture and the coziest corners. If they find themselves in a forest, then every pine tree and stone is their property, which must be supervised.

To decide whether photographer Shandess Griffin deserves an award for this shot, a vote is needed. But the model in the frame is exempt from such rules. Not everyone can run across water so gracefully without falling or being distracted by annoying droplets. Where do they give a medal to the sweetest dog? Give him two.

Steal meat off the table or wait for the owners to offer it themselves? Roll in a muddy puddle on a walk or pass it by and come home clean? A dog faces so many temptations every day, and all one can hope is that the little angel on the right ear is more convincing than the devil.

This little dog isn’t doing any tricks or trying to imitate its owners. It simply stood on its hind legs, waiting for a treat or gazing at something incredibly interesting in the distance. And how adorable it looks doing so.

Reading animals are a separate trend in 2026. We’ve already seen a smart cat in glasses that devoured several classic volumes and climbed atop a tower of them. Now it’s the dogs’ turn.

Man’s best friend keeps up too, reading a page or two before bed. And the model in Carolyn Bray’s photo shoot is certainly no snob. On its reading list are both non-fiction and a glossy magazine, and maybe even a copy of “How to Retrain Your Owner in 10 Days.”
